Chief Executive Officer - MAF New Zealand
Since the age of eight Mark has had an avid interest in aviation. Around the same time, God planted in him a real desire to be a missionary. However, for the next 21 years, God led Mark down a different path, pastoring 3 Baptist churches and establishing an orphanage in India as well as serving for 3 years as an MAF NZ Board Member.
Mark began his role as CEO for MAF NZ in 2008 and he continues to be extremely passionate about the work of MAF here in New Zealand.
With support and encouragement from his family, Mark's fervent desire is to serve God by utilizing his love of missions and aviation, as he promotes and develops the unique work and ministry of MAF. He is particularly keen to help support and release people to serve with MAF.
Mark believes that MAF's ministry is critical because of the “link in the chain” it provides for hundreds of other mission and aid agencies to get to hard-to-reach places in order to accomplish the important work God has called them to do. Mark's desire is to help strengthen that link in the chain through quality and effective ministry, and in doing so, fulfil the role God has called MAF to provide.
Mark and his wife Philippa live in Tauranga and have 3 adult children.
