Communications Manager and Ministry Partnership Manager.
Tim began working at MAF in January 2015, taking on two roles. As Communications Manager he is responsible to oversee the design and production of all publications, media presence, online and social media of MAF New Zealand. As the Ministry Partnership Manager he works alongside new staff as they build relationships, develop Home Support Teams and raise the personal funds and prayer support necessary for overseas service with MAF.
Tim has a background in Christian community development, having worked for 11 years in the inner city of Oakland, California, a city known for poverty, gangs and violence. He directed the Cross Cultural Ministries program, leading the work among refugees from the hill tribes of Laos. His work with refugees continued in New Zealand as manager of the Refugee Services team inside the Mangere Refugee Reception Centre (MRCC) for almost 5 years.
Tim has long had a passion for world missions. He came to New Zealand at the start of 2000 with wife and daughter to join YWAM, where he served for 6 years as their National Director of Communications. Tim facilitates the Kairos missions course and has taught on YWAM training schools throughout the Pacific.
Tim has taught computer graphics and design at College level and worked professionally as a graphic designer.
Tim is an artist, working in watercolor and acrylics, has been part of the video team at his church and loves photography, sailing and travelling. He achieved a Masters degree in Christian studies at New College, Berkeley.
